Sillyness.

I just read this.

It strikes me as odd that those in authority have suspended the Doctors concerned. Why? They say that it did not involve patients, and patient care was never compromised during this sillyness. If this is true, then sillyness is all it was - no harm done to anyone. But now, a presumably busy A&E is even shorter on staff because these doctors and nurses have been suspended.

That's not sillyness. That's madness.

Silly hospital managers. Junior docs on night shift have done things like this since the beginning of time. What silly managers need to realise is how utterly isolated and oppressive working in a hospital at 4am is. The ONLY thing that gets you through is your team and you need some light relief in the middle of all the gloom. Remember if you are called to see a patient at that time of night its generally because they are about to die and are seriously unwell. Its soul destroying. I thank god the managers never came to our doctors mess to witness the shenanigans that went on in there... granted we didn't take pictures for facebook but the Lying Down Game is the relatively tame tip of the iceberg. Gives us a break!
